The UIDAI said that downloaded and printed Aadhaar card is a valid document & it not need to be laminated by using smart card. As per UIDAI the laminated Aadhaar card is unfit for use by making the QR code dysfunctional.
The UIDAI authorities said that black & white print out of Aadhaar considered valid document. To avoid the misuse of Aadhaar data the UIDAI announced the provisions of making Aadhaar data safe. The card holders can easily lock their biometrics data sitting at home by using internet.
Steps to Lock\Unlock:
Step1. Visit the UIDAI official website.
Step2. Click “Aadhaar Services” tab and then “Lock /Unlock” .
Step3. A new page will open where you have to enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number & security code in specific fields.
Step4. Enter registered mobile number & hit on Get OTP button.
Step5. You will receive OTP & enter the OTP you have received. Now logged in to the your Aadhaar account.
Step6. Finally click Enable Biometric Locking and click Enable button.
Step7. To unlock the data click on Disable biometric Locking button.
The UIDAI has providing the latest feature facial recognition in addition to the other authentication methods used to identify such as fingerprints or eye scans.
As per per UIDAI new rule the photocopy of Aadhaar card is not enough to get bank account. It is mandatory for the bank to conduct authentication like biometric or OTP of Aadhaar card for banking translations or KYC.
